(1) Things that make an apprentice priceless – Enthusiasm

Things that makes an apprentice priceless is their enthusiasm to learn new skills and develop their experience. The majority of apprentices have little, if not zero experience to begin with therefore this skill is required.

This reassures the employer that they’re keen to learn and develop their skills internally. This will open plenty of new opportunities for the apprentice throughout their early stages. Also, with enthusiasm and passion the team will give you more responsibility, as they trust you to perform.

(2) Things that make an apprentice priceless – Experience

Being an apprentice provides you with valuable experience across multiple different areas of a company. The majority of the time you’re given the chance to rotate to new teams. As well as shadow on multiple different campaigns and get a strong overview on what in industry suits you best.

Alongside receiving fantastic experience, you also get the opportunity pick up a great qualification which can be really useful. This will support you when applying for new roles externally. As well as going for promotions internally due to having a qualification to support you to progress.

(3) – Time Management

One pivotal skill to success as an apprentice is time management. Apprentices not only have to work a full time a job, but also have to work on their qualification. This certainly improves time management skills a lot as there any many projects to balance.

Apprentices are able to prioritise their apprenticeship work and normal day to day work. This will support them when they develop throughout their career and they receive more responsibilities (e.g when they receive a promotion). This is because they will be able to put the most important work first and not feel overwhelmed with so many different tasks.

(4) Networking

Being an Apprentice provides you with different networking opportunities. You’re able to rotate around the business and people a great selection of different employees. With little experience apprentices have the confidence and skill to put in time with their team and get to know them outside of work. This is a priceless trait, within the early stages of your career as building strong relationship at work will provide you with opportunities and contacts further down the line within your career.

(5) Building a strong CV

A huge attraction to apprenticeships is the financial advantage. Having an apprenticeship can further your CV and improve your personal statement. Compared to someone just completing a degree at university and looking for a job, having an equal qualification but stronger workplace experience, you are more likely to be offered a higher pay. This is a huge advantage for young adults looking for their first job after an apprenticeship. This proves an apprenticeship can be just as beneficial as going to University
