Promoting Apprenticeships in the UK

Apprenticeship Networks top tips on increasing your chances of landing THAT apprenticeship!

Are you currently struggling to find the perfect apprenticeship for you? well you’re not alone. Struggling to find an apprenticeship can be caused by a wide variety of problems. Here we will be breaking those down for you so you don’t have to.

Don’t know where to look?

One of the main causes for people struggling to get an apprenticeship is they don’t know where to look. If you are stuck looking in the wrong place it can feel like you are lost in a world that you are so unfamiliar with.

In our opinion we would recommend the following sites:

Linkedin

I well built Linkedin Profile can be a game changer when it comes to apprenticeships. The best thing about it is it doesn’t only act as a CV you can also apply for jobs through the app. It’s essentially a full working network wrapped in a little bow. We will be sharing our Tips on Linked in in one of our later points

Gov.uk

One of the most underrated places to apply for apprenticeships would be the government website. Hundreds of apprenticeships get published on there every day. They will also let you filter between industries and different levels of apprenticeships. This means you can really tailor it to what YOU want.

Facebook groups

There are also plenty of Facebook groups targeted towards young people who are in your position. The only downside of this is that they are slightly more complicated to apply for and you are unable to filter. This means you may end up with some random suggestions. One group we’d recommend would be “Not going to Uni”.

Tailoring your Linkedin Profile

Making your CV POP!

Once you have just left collage sometimes it can be a challenge to make your CV stand out with little relevant experience. In this situation one method which worked for one of our apprentices would be work experience he says.

“When I left collage I had little relevant work experience apart from in the retail industry. what worked for me was to get work experience which taught me transferable skills like time management, organization under pressure and leadership etc. This made me look employable to larger corporations”

Conclusion

We hope you can take some of these tips on board and really push forward with your apprenticeship journey. We will be constantly publishing as many tips as little hacks to make you stand out above the rest when applying for apprenticeships.
