Promoting Apprenticeships in the UK

Blog

Why an apprenticeship is an amazing thing to do!

Life is often overwhelming and you can feel huge pressure to make the right choices. When you leave school it can feel like the world is your oyster but the wealth of opportunities can be paralysing!

Whilst the traditional route of going off to university might seem like a good option, committing to one subject for three years often doesn’t appeal, also if you’ve just escaped school the last thing many people want is to end up back in a classroom gazing up in despair at a whiteboard whilst being lectured at.

University is also very expensive, who wants to start their career with an enormous loan hanging around their neck, swallowing up their paycheck each month! Students have also been having a rougher and rougher time of it, what with being gated into halls during covid, lecturers striking all over the place and some even having to queue overnight to find a place to rent during their second and third years of studying it’s astounding anyone even attempts to go anymore.

The alternative is to go and get a job, which might sound good until you start trying to find one. A lot of entry level jobs require you to have a degree or relevant experience. Leading us to catch 22: how can you be expected to have relevant experience if you’ve never had the job to begin with?

This is where apprenticeships come in, brilliant programs where you get PAID to learn. You work in a real world environment, gaining practical experience, making contacts and learning from people with actual working knowledge (rather than theoretical) all whilst earning a salary, how great is that? Coaches help you navigate your course, there are communities of other apprentices to learn from and make friends with and your learning is integrated into your day-to-day work.

So don’t stress yourself over that UCAS application, sign up HERE to discover the apprenticeship that is right for you.
