Have You Considered an Apprenticeships?
Maybe you just finished school and are looking for the next steps. Should you go straight into the workforce? What if you don’t have enough experience in the jobs you want to work in? Or maybe you’re being pressured to go to university and are concerned about tuition fees and living expenses. There are so many decisions to make and it can be rather overwhelming.
What if there was another path you could take toward your successful career?
Have you considered apprenticeships? If you have not, here is why you should.
Apprenticeships provide work experience along your learning path.
When applying for a job, the most important thing to have on your resume is experience. While other career paths, such as University, may be great at providing you with adequate learning resources, apprenticeships also provide you with valuable work experience. Working alongside your learning will allow you to develop crucial skills such as time management and teamwork. If your learning style is a more hands-on practical one, then Apprenticeships might be the right for you.
You will be learning up-to-date and relevant industry knowledge and practices.
Doing a University degree, due to the nature of the learning style, can often mean you will be learning about industry practices that are a couple or more years out of date. This might not sound significant, however, if you’re planning to work in a fast-growing industry such as tech or media, staying up to date with the latest developments is crucial.
Working as an apprentice allows you to learn about new technologies as soon as they are developed and implemented in the industry. Depending on what industry you plan to work in, staying up-to-date with industry trends and practices can be crucial, and it will give you an advantage in the job market.
