Top 5 Things That Make Apprenticeships Priceless

Lets face it, you may be fresh from leaving school, or someone considering an alternative career path.

We’ve all been there looking at a new industry and thinking “How can I enter this space”, and I can say, from experience, an apprenticeship is a serious contender for the top spot.

You could also be saying to yourself, “University is not for me!” Steep student costs and no promise of a job doesn’t give the hope and inspiration they once did back in your parent’s days.

Just for you, I have compiled a list of the benefits of apprenticeships I find are priceless!

Earn While You Learn

Apprenticeships offer a decent starting wage compared to many entry-level jobs for those with no industry experience. You can earn while you get the grips of a new industry. And the biggest benefit of all – NO STUDENT DEBT

Develop Key Industry Experience and Skills

While you work through an apprenticeship, the range of training materials and hands-on experience provides you with a catalogue of transferrable skills, such as communication, problem-solving and teamwork.

Form a Network/ Connections

Mixing with a team who are veterans in an industry can only be beneficial for your progression. Teamwork and communication can easily create network and connection opportunities in the industry and can lead to recommendations and referrals, increasing your reputation.

Opportunities for Progression

Proving your value is far better than vocal promises.  As you progress through an apprenticeship, you will gain more responsibility as you become more confident. This allows you to push for senior positions within the organisation.

Provides Value

Having an apprenticeship on your CV proves to employers that you can handle the tasks of a full-time job position. An employer is more likely to trust someone with work experience rather than someone fresh from Uni, who will need to be trained to get up to speed with the real world. One of the many benefits of an apprenticeship!
