Introduction:
Hey, my name is Maisie Halliday, I am currently studying an apprenticeship with Multiverse. I am nearly a year into it and I still have no regrets. I was fortunate enough to be place at a top Media agency called Mediacom.
This blog will hopefully inspire you to do an apprenticeship if you are torn between future options like I was!
Journey:
So, my journey started after college here I studied Visual Merchandising. For those who don’t know, it is designing and making Fashion Display windows!! I loved every second. At this time when I was studying I worked in my local fish and chip shop to get some extra money. I was considering Uni a gap year or a full time job. I got the courage to apply for London College of Fashion and University of Manchester, both to study a scientific degree in fashion buying and merchandising.
Where did it all change? Well after getting into my dream universities it was time to make a decision. I came across the Multiverse apprentice scheme and instantly the thought of no more education and a full time stable job this became very appealing. Who wouldn’t want a good income, fun experience throughout the media world and an exciting role with some of the worlds biggest clients? At this point I knew it was time to give myself a successful career.
Apprenticeship:
Multiverse have loads of opportunities for new apprentices. The one I chose was Digital Marketing. Once I was accepted I applied for Mediacom. Applying for Multiverse is a quick process, they are very supportive and give you the best outcome for your career.
Where I am now?
I currently work for Mediacom, My client is Sky broadband and I have the most amazing team! We truly are the BB dream team!!! I have loved every experience, from client facing interactions, media lunches and more importantly the workload. Mediacom offers the support you need for an apprenticeship they go above and beyond to help you succeed. You meet so many people and everyone is at a different stage in their life and you can learn so much more.
The main benefits for an apprenticeship:
- No uni debt
- Earn a decent amount of money
- Meet so many people
- Social work
- Work experience across so many different channels.
Summary:
An apprenticeship is a real job where you learn, gain experience and get paid. You’re an employee with a contract of employment and holiday leave. By the end of an apprenticeship, you’ll have the right skills and knowledge needed for your chosen career. For me it was the best decision I made. I now have a year of an amazing experience that has set me up for many more exciting opportunities to come!
